Description
After your arrival at the port of Sokhna, please take the free shuttle bus from the ship to the parking lot of the port, where our tour guide will be waiting for you.
We will drive with you in an air-conditioned bus along the Red Sea to Zafarana. After arrival, you will visit the oldest and largest monasteries in Egypt: the Anthony Monastery, whose complex includes churches, living quarters and gardens and is located in the mountains of the eastern desert, and the Paul Monastery, about 15 km from the Anthony Monastery.
The walls of the Paul Monastery were built in and around the cave in which the hermit Paul lived for about 90 years in the 3rd and 4th centuries. There are several altars and candelabras inside. Icons can also be found and a sarcophagus that is believed to contain the remains of Saint Paul. Then return to Sokhna.
